About: Born and raised in Calhoun, LA Ronald was raised by his grandmother who taught him the importance of helping people. He realized we are not all fortunate enough to get the help we need when we need it. We may sometimes need a guiding light to help brighten our path. He decided to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). He earned his Counseling in Training (CIT) and Certified Addictions Counseling (CAC) license. He earned his Master's from Grand Canyon University with a specialty in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Ronald's road to helping others through counseling started while working in the field of addiction. He spent fifteen years working with individuals who suffered with both mental health and substance abuse then learned how co-occurring disorders can lead to unhealthy decisions if not treated. This work led him to the want to help children and adolescents prior and during those learning years to develop healthier coping strategies.

I work collaboratively from a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective with clients. I incorporate holistic psychotherapy perspectives and draw from somatic and mindfulness practices to increase self-awareness and re-connect our mind, body, and spirit as they play a vital role in our well-being. I believe every person is unique, so I include a variety of evidence-based models of therapy such as CBT, DBT, relational and attachment, psychodynamic, polyvagal and others to tailor the needs and goals of my clients.
I work with adolescents, adults, mothers, and couples experiencing PTSD with a focus on complex-PTSD, as well as various forms of trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship problems, life transitions, stress, dissociative disorders and more. I lean towards a solution-focused, integrative, existential, and feminist approach under a trauma-informed lens. My goal is to create a strong therapeutic relationship and heal, liberate, empower, and build confidence and success in your daily life.
I am trained and certified as a Clinical Trauma Specialist for individuals (CCTS-I), and I am expected to complete basic training and obtain certification in EMDR in April of 2024.
